Fun Things To Do In Chester County This Weekend For Families And Kids November 1st, 2nd and 3rd

A list of the best things to do in Chester County

this  weekend

November 1st, 2nd and 3rd

What to do this weekend with your family? There is so much to do for families and kids. We invite you to check out our events calendar, with many family-friendly events and things to do on the weekends and every day of the week. We constantly update our events calendar, so there is always something new and exciting to do!

During this three-hour event, our expert staff will teach basic astronomy and how astronomers use telescopes. Visitors will learn the difference between a reflecting and a refracting telescope, discover the properties of light and lenses using a pinhole camera, and watch one of the informational talks in the theater.  Participants will also stargaze with telescopes to see the Moon, Saturn, and Jupiter (weather permitting).

Come to the Brandywine Museum of Art for an exploration of wood in art, science and nature! In addition to free admission, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., seek and find carved details in the woodworks of Wharton Esherick to use as inspiration for your own crafts.* Create colorful scratch art postcards and design and build your own miniature dream art studio using wood pieces.

Discover native trees with Brandywine Conservancy’s Environmental Educator, Julia Steiner, and chat with master woodworker, Larissa Huff, to explore the special qualities of wood. Did you know you can blow bubbles through a piece of oak? What is the difference between closed grain and open grain? How and why does wood move through the seasons? How do we get from tree to furniture? Take part in some fun science experiments to learn all about wood.

Join us the first Saturday of each month between 9 am – 12 pm for free in-person Kids Workshops. While supplies last.

Join us for a weekend of family fun at the 48th Annual Apple Festival on Saturday & Sunday, November 2 & 3 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Peddler’s Village Apple Festival is one of the most popular annual events in the greater Philadelphia region!

Enjoy a brisk fall afternoon along the picturesque Chester Creek Valley from our train as we take you on a 90-minute journey back in time to the village of Glen Mills and return.

It’s the first Sunday of the month, which means free admission at the Barnes. Enjoy fun art activities, performances, and free access to the collection and Mickalene Thomas: All About Love.

This month, we’re highlighting the work of artist Mickalene Thomas, whose vivid, spectacularly staged artworks offer an empowered vision of Black femininity and beauty. Inspired by our new exhibition, the Philadelphia Jazz Tap Ensemble will present two exhilarating dance performances honoring great women in jazz.

On view through our Chrysanthemum Festival and A Longwood Christmas seasons, a perfectly fanciful blend of horticulture, engineering, and lighthearted fun awaits guests of all ages with this very special display located outdoors near the Terrace Restaurant.

Corn Maze, Pumpkin Patch, and more. November 2nd is the last day.

Our fall harvest celebration weekends kick off on September 14, weather permitting.
Activities include Apple and Pumpkin picking, Corn maze, Apple cannons, Face Painting, Axe Throwing, Trackless Train Rides, and Hayrides.

Celebrate summer—the season of vibrant hues, sunny days, and starlit evenings—here at Longwood. Realize spectacular beauty with horticultural splendor at every turn. Revel in brilliant blooms to stunning vistas from our all-new Conservatory Overlook. Refresh your senses with the thrill of dancing fountains. Recharge with quality time spent with friends and family. Revisit nature. Remember the wow.

Imagination Street a new play space that kids and parents can enjoy together. For kids (ages 0–9), it is a meaningful, hands-on play experience in nine, interactive, themed playhouses that form a “city” to explore. For parents, there’s a cafe-style lounge to gather, drink coffee, or get some work done. Because the space is an open concept, parents are in close proximity of their children the entire time. They offer open play sessions, private parties, events, and more.

Burn off some energy while having some fun while skating with the family.

Guests to the Philadelphia Museum of Art can pay what they wish for admission every Friday evening and the first Sunday of the month. Reservations are required.

Urban Air Trampoline and Adventure Park have adventures behind every corner. They are the ultimate indoor playground for your entire family. Take your kids’ birthday party to the next level or spend a day of fun with the family, and you’ll see why we’re more than just a trampoline park.
