2024 Fall Activities Guide for The Chester County Area



The kids are back to school, and cooler weather is coming. There are plenty of hayrides, apple festivals, pumpkin picking, and many more fall events happening in the area this fall.





 September 21st  thru October 31st

This Halloween display of colorful cartoon characters, scarecrows, a hay hutch, and over ten tons of pumpkins is always a hit!

DAYTIME HAYRIDES
Kids will adore a daytime hayride through friendly woods. Appropriate for all ages.

MAZES
Includes Cornstalk Maze, Halloween Funhouse, and Casper’s Castle.
Combo ticket for daytime hayride and mazes: $9

Haunted Hayrides
Brace yourself for plenty of scares as you ride through our haunted woods, full of monsters! Not recommended for children under 8.

Haunted Hedge Maze
 Wind through the tall, dark hedges with monsters waiting around every corner.




September 13th through November 2nd

Cherry Crest Adventure Farm is a 15-acre farm located in Lancaster, with 50+ Farm Fun activities, including the Hay Chute Slide and Straw Bale Racer, Jump Pillow, Farm Tour Wagon Ride, Petting Zoo and Farm Experience Center, Corny’s Ball-cade, and everyone's favorite the Corn Maze.






September 21st -October 27th

Visit Pumpkin Garden, where your kids will love the pillow bounce, moon bounces, the brand new barn bounce, and pumpkin jump. Have a blast with the corn cannon. Mine for gems at our all-new gem mining experience. Visit the animals at the Petting Zoo. With train rides, pedal carts, hay bale mazes, and more, the kids are sure to have fun! But the fun doesn’t end there! Take a hayride down to the Pumpkin Patch to pick your own pumpkin. Or see if how quickly you can find your way through the 5-acre corn maze.





October 12, 13, 19, 20, 26, and 27th

Philadelphia Zoo is adding a little green to your Halloween with the return of
 Boo at the Zoo!
Enjoy festive fall offerings available for purchase throughout the Zoo: hot apple cider, reusable Boo at the Zoo trick-or-treat bags, and much more!
Set out on a Scarecrow Scavenger Hunt and discover your favorite animals in the form of life-size scarecrows!







September 20th -November 3

Teens and Tweens will enjoy The Bates Motel & Haunted Hayride, which has been voted the #1 haunt in the country and has been featured on the Travel Channel. 





October 17th -19th

Join us for a three-day Chadds Ford tradition where over 70 giant pumpkins are carved by local artists on Thursday and will be lit and displayed on Friday & Saturday. All three nights, enjoy a 'kid-friendly' Haunted Trail, raffle prizes, and live music. Food, local craft beer, and wine are available for purchase.




September 21st -November 2nd

Pick-your-own pumpkin patch with a free hayride out to the fields.  Beyond the patch, you can find pumpkins and gourds in all sizes and colors, corn stalks, straw bales, a corn maze, and more.   






September 9th - October 27th

Over 100 spectacular scarecrows line the autumn-tinted pathways of Peddler’s Village during our 42nd annual Scarecrows in the Village, on display from September 6 through October 30! View and vote for your favorite larger-than-life creations in this Bucks County tradition for eight fun-filled weeks. Some scarecrows are inspired by famous characters, some are humorous, and some are scary – but all of them are carefully handmade by Philly-area residents and organizations.

Enjoy fun fall activities, including our annual Scarecrow-Making Workshops (reserve your spot online) and pumpkin painting, live entertainment every weekend, and delicious fall-inspired specials at Village restaurants.

Weekends starting September 28th -October 27th

Enjoy a fully decorated park full of family-friendly ghouls, ghosts, and spooks! Soak in the colors of fall with all your royal friends at Dutch Wonderland in a safe, non-scary environment for kids! Laugh, scream, and cackle with over 30 of our favorite rides and attractions themed for the season!

September 28th - October 27th

Our annual pumpkin harvest season at Milky Way Farm runs Sept 28-Oct 27, 2024. For Saturdays and Sundays, purchase $5 admission tickets for each person. Wander through the corn maze, take family photos, visit the farm animals, and stroll to one of our pumpkin patches through our farm meadow as part of your 2-hour experience.






October 18th- October 20th
10:00am to 3:00pm

Celebrate Halloween Brandywine Zoo-style with this merry, not scary, event. All are invited to wear costumes while visiting the zoo animals. Plenty of treats and activities. Kids will receive a pre-packaged treat bag at the end! Members DO NOT need to register for this event! Tickets are available at the door and online. Online purchase recommended. 





September 14- November 3

Come in costume and celebrate silly, not-too-spooky fun at The Count’s Halloween Spooktacular at Sesame Place! The park will be transformed into a family-friendly Halloween haven, and guests will enjoy trick-or-treating around the park, Halloween-themed shows, participating in our interactive Scarecrow Scavenger Hunt, and unique photo opportunities with everyone’s favorite furry friends dressed up in costume on their Halloween-themed floats! 









 October 26th

1:00pm to 4:00pm

At 1pm, on the corner of Forrest and Haverford Avenues, Halloween kicks off with this popular annual scavenger hunt. Children of all ages are invited to join in this free event, where kids search downtown Narberth high and low for the witchiest witches around. They collect treats along the way and then return to the start to collect a Halloween prize.








Sept 30- Oct 29
Weekends Only

Ride a tractor-drawn wagon out to the pumpkin patch, where you can spend as long as you want selecting the perfect pumpkins for every member of the family. Be sure you bring along your camera for some priceless photos. Of course, you can also just take the hayride, and grab some pre-picked pumpkins or walk to one of our patches.
