Dressage at Devon September 26 - October 1, 2023 - Bring the kids any day, but especially on Sunday, October 1st, when they can join the Dressage Explorers and make their own stick horse to ride down the centerline in the Dixon Oval, join the selfie-scavenger hunt with prizes, and see the exhibitions.
Apple lovers all know that Fall is the best time to celebrate this delicious and versatile fruit. On September 30 from 10 AM to 4 PM, everyone is welcome to the Cider Fest at the Mill at Anselma in Chester Springs.
It is especially fitting that apple cider is celebrated at the Mill, since for 54 years of its 276-year history (1886 to 1940) the Anselma Mill cider press operated for its community.
Visitors can learn about colonial baking methods with a live demonstration by colonial baking experts Becky Manley and Sheila Walter. Cider historian and expert, Mark Turdo will recreate historic cider using reproduction 18th-century tools and clothing. And everyone can enjoy a free glass of cider or an apple!
Assuring no one goes home hungry, the Epicurean Garage food truck will be on hand, and visitors can also purchase local honey sold by Extract & Box. And of course, there will be apples and cider for sale from Downingtown’s Mariner Farms! Plus, Pennsylvania Distilling Company, a local craft distillery that produces grain-to-glass small batch spirits, will be here with samples, bottle sales and two signature cocktails.
Lionville Fire Company will be on site with equipment from 10:00 a.m. to noon for information and getting to know them.
