WHAT: Will discover the history and symbolism behind the American flag through flag etiquette workshops, flag raising and folding ceremonies, an interactive show and arts and craft activities during a special Flag Day celebration at the National Constitution Center.

DETAILS: Broad stripes and bright stars will be on full display on Tuesday, June 14 at the National Constitution Center. In honor of Flag Day, visitors to the Center will learn how to properly display and care for the U.S. flag during special flag etiquette workshops. An interactive and entertaining spectacle, “The Star Spangled Banner Show” will teach visitors about the flag that flew over the Battle of Fort McHenry and moved Francis Scott Key to pen our America’s National Anthem.
A flag folding ceremony of giant proportions will occur at 1:00 p.m. Visitors will watch as staff members of the Center fold a giant 20' X 38' flag in the Grand Hall lobby.
Children also will have the opportunity to proudly display their own versions of red, white and blue with craft projects including crepe paper flags and stars and stripe wands and pinwheels.
